Of course, Charlie Craven is not only a master fly tier; he is an excellent instructor. This will be handy to have at the fly shop to buy materials and on the water to tie up a quick fly to match the hatch.
The app includes the video and step by step instruction for 10 flies - up to 30 more can be purchased at $.99 each - seems like a fair price to me.
The videos are great, and the step by step instructions include audio commentary.

Im not one who usually takes the time to write a review, but really wanted to express my appreciation for a very well thought out application that is easy for an old guy like me to use. The navigation is simple & intuitive and the information provided is top notch quality, straight forward and isnt loaded with a bunch of nonsense filler. Ive been tying flies for years and although I am familiar with most of the ones that are in the basic package, have found a couple new choices that are new to me and Im excited to tie & fly them on the water. Thank you, this is a very nice ap and has refreshed my interest in downloading aps again as Ive been getting tired of all the junky & trashy aps that seem to now take up so much space in the ap store.
No saltwater flies, very much trout biased, have to pay for step by step. Its one of the most well put together app Ive seen, but it could be so much more.
Ive just recently become interested in fly tying and have to say that this application is extremely helpful! I wouldnt have known where to begin without it.
This is an extremely useful and educational app for anyone interested in fly tying!
Some bad moments
As always, Charlie Craven produced a great fly tying demo. His demos are always perfect and in great detail. The only issue, and a huge one, this app is way tooooo expensive. 4.99 to puchase and then you only get the recipe. If you want the video to demo how tie, it cost more. A total waste of money specially when you can get the videos on you tube for FREE! I am very disappointed and will take my business to Anglers All.
No information was given about paying extra for most of the demo videos and step by step instructions. $0.99 a demo is pretty steep. Very disappointed.
$5 for only 10 flies is lame. I did not realize it was only 10 flies, or I never would have upgraded for $5. I thought I would get all the flies listed in the light version. Instead, you have to pay an additional 99 cents for each one. I would like my money back.
Some flies have excellent, detailed, step by step instructions, but not all. Those extras (over half the pictured flies) or a supplemental demo video had to be purchased as extras from the Ap. This is bait and switch as far as I was concerned causing me to be very disappointed with this product. Even a fishing product should not require "bait" and switch. This is a fly-fishing Ap!
